The moon is wise, endlessly alone, as it lovingly illuminates blackness... Eerily still, sentient. I wonder if the moon thinks out loud? Does it laugh? Or weep tears? Or simply tirelessly pray heavenly blessings down upon stumbling, silly human beings, as they frantically search for peace within their reach.

Sixty years ago, the moon was a flat shining object in the sky. With my binoculars, I now see a three-dimensional object. It seems clear that the moon is not shining, but is partly illuminated by an unseen source of light. The moon has changed a lot in sixty years. — Mark O-Keefe
